Start with a full name. Open the state page. Match the job and current status. Save the page you saw. A badge cannot stand in for this check. Full names matter. Fresh dates matter.
As of September 2026, Virginia’s free DHP License Lookup (DHP is the state Department of Health Professions) covered doctors, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners.
It also covered pharmacists and pharmacies.
It also showed board orders, the public records of discipline from a state licensing board.
Virginia physician profiles showed Board of Medicine orders.
Much of the other profile detail was self-reported.

For the visit rules
As of September 2026, Virginia normally required a real care relationship for prescribing: the person prescribing gets or arranges your health or medicine history and a suitable exam, explains the benefits and risks, and arranges follow-up when needed. The law names exceptions for some infections, including expedited partner therapy.

A place on that list did not mean product approval.
